<description>A very interesting post! I like it a lot, you have put together some really good tips for people new in the event management business!

Since am I not only an event manager, but also a lawyer, I would like to add two tips:
1) Make sure you always get it in writing! Every time you book a caterer, venue, speaker, artist etc, make sure you have a written contract or order confirmation! You never know what will happen, and it&#039;s no fun when you suddenly find yourself, in the middle of an event, in a dispute about wether you actually ordered smoked or cooked salmon and how much you will be charged for it!
2) Always read the fine print. I know, this sounds dull and lawyerish, but it is important! The fine print say stuff like &quot;if you by any chance cancel the event you still have to pay my fee + 20%&quot;, so it pays off to know your fine print! Otherwise it _will_ come back to bite you in the butt (pardon my French)

Anyway, love your blog, will make sure to check back!
