WHAT'S THE BEST SOCIAL Media SITE FOR ME?

You're going to hate me for saying this, but it depends!

While there are some standard uses for popular networks, I love working with businesses willing to be creative with their online media. You can examine big brands like GE and Red Bull to see how they use social media, even with the smallest of apps you'd never suspect... Snapchat, anyone?

I want 5,000 paying customers in 2 months from Facebook.

Uh, good luck with that. Social media isn't a magic bullet which converts all of your followers into sales. Start slow, build up engaging posts supported by promotions and paid content, then we'll see what realistic goals can be met. On the other hand, you can spend big on Facebook ads, but then are you actually being social? No.

What do you charge?

Lower than agencies, but I'm surely not your assistant's kid doing this for a case of beer. Send me a short email with your budget and I can provide a quote to suit your needs. Prices published are flexible, so hit me with your best reason why we should work together.

I have this event idea... Do you run events too?

Tell me all about it and maybe we can get you some live social media coverage! I also enjoy speaking, but I get nervous just like everyone else out there, so please give me plenty of time and info.

WHERE ARE YOU BASED?

I'm in Brisbane, Queensland. Most working days you can find me at Little Tokyo Two, a collaborative working space in Spring Hill. Other times I hit up the SLQ Business Studio, or the odd cafe or library in South Bank, Brisbane City and Fortitude Valley.

HOW SUCCESSFUL ARE YOUR OWN PROFILES?

  • 5,600+ followers on Twitter
  • 1,700+ followers on LinkedIn
  • 800+ followers on Instagram
  • 800+ followers on Google+
  • 600+ friends and 400+ followers on my Facebook profile
  • 500+ followers on Pinterest
  • 500+ likes on my Facebook page

Modest (I'm no huge influencer!), but what I love about my networks are the quality of conversations. That's what I want, not big numbers, but big quality.

WHICH IS YOUR FAVOURITE SOCIAL MEDIA SITE?

Twitter by a long shot, probably followed by Slack. I also appreciate both Snapchat and Tinder for their innovative app models which have introduced us to some very interesting business use cases among the entertainment, tech and FMCG industries.

How about apps and tools for posting?

Easy! Buffer and Schedugram. Tell 'em I say hi. There's also a list of other goodies at the Cool Tools page.
